Owner Steve Tsantes is originally from Brooklyn, New York.
Steve grew up in an old Victorian home full of Early American and European antiques and
treasures. With his Greek heritage and love for travel, he grew to
appreciate the more ornate, if not eclectic fineries of home décor.
As a young man his true love for the classics developed. Coming from a
Greek family, food and the preparation of food was always prevalent.
His father was a chef and his mom an amazing baker.
In following his family’s tradition, he opened a pastry shop in the heart of New York
City. While greeting his daily customers, he developed his talent as a
natural entertainer and story teller.
Eventually, the family moved to Virginia and Steve’s entrepreneurial interest developed a successful
International moving company. After 30 years of running his
professional moving company and gingerly handling fine antiques and
collectibles, Steve has finally given into his dream of owning and
operating an antique and jewelry shop. Somewhere In Time is loaded with
unique and unusual treasures from around the world.
Somewhere In Time is located in the Mount Vernon Antique Center, formerly
known as "Thieves Market". It is the oldest antique mall in the US -
